March 7, 2022 FSP goes undercover for Merseyside HQ project
FSP has provided a series of its flagship recessed access covers at the new Merseyside Police headquarters in Liverpool.
The recessed covers, which were specified to FACTA AAA and FACTA D rating, have been installed at the purpose-built, four-storey centre that will welcome more than 1,100 police officers and staff when it opens this autumn.
FACTA specification is the industry standard for access covers. FACTA AAA is ideal for pedestrian walkway areas, while FACTA D is specified to withstand up to 11 tonne wheel loads.
The FAB PAVE™ covers were selected by masonry contractor, Cara Construction, who is working in contract with Willmott Dixon on the £48million HQ project.
The new 12,800 m2 policing centre will provide open-plan offices, meeting rooms and break-out spaces and is being built adjacent to the force’s existing location on St Anne Street in Liverpool city centre.
This is just the latest public sector project FSP has been involved in, as its FAB Secure™ high security hinged grilles were recently incorporated into construction work at HMP Wandsworth.
