We are justifiably proud of our Telford roots and were delighted to be one of the finalists shortlisted to win a unique award to celebrate our town’s milestone 50th birthday.

FSP was one of just four companies up for the Telford50 title that will recognise the company that has had the greatest impact to the area anytime over the past 50 years.

There are lots of great businesses in Telford. We’re not the biggest or the most successful but we believe that FSP embodies the enterprising character and generous nature of the Telford & Wrekin area. We echo the supportive spirit of the Telford business community and do everything we can to invest in and grow our workforce and the community around us.

‘Telford’ runs through Fabweld Steel Products like a stick of rock. We started in Telford, our people are from Telford, we’ve grown in Telford, we’ve invested in Telford.

Beginning as a two-man enterprise in 1988, FSP is now a leader in its industry of access and drainage covers, employing 40 people in Madeley.

Innovation, creativity and craftsmanship – themes that echo Telford’s roots in the Industrial Revolution – are at the heart of what we do.

Our products are used in some of the most prestigious locations and projects in the UK and the world, putting Telford’s manufacturing pedigree at the forefront of a global market.

Our people are Telford people so we’re passionate about the community where we work and live. We invest in them through training and have successfully raised skill levels through company-wide adult literacy and numeracy schemes.

We are a learning partner of Telford College and the University of Wolverhampton, with its Telford campus at Priorslee. Our apprenticeship scheme offers valuable opportunities to young people from Telford.

Corporate social responsibility is an ethos built into every part of FSP, from volunteering and mentoring work in the community to raising thousands of pounds for charities such as Severn Hospice.

We are dedicated to working with local traders and suppliers and have a detailed environmental policy in place, focusing on recycling and reduced energy consumption, to mitigate our impact on the environment.

We are, quite simply, Telford through and through.
