At Fabweld Steel Products, environmental responsibility is central to how we manufacture, invest, and grow. Our approach is guided by a clear Net Zero Road Map and a long term commitment to reducing our environmental impact while continuing to deliver high quality steel solutions.
Net Zero Commitment
Our Net Zero Road Map sets out a structured pathway toward significant carbon reduction across our operations. Through measured targets, continuous monitoring, and early adoption of best practice, we are reducing emissions, improving efficiency, and embedding sustainability into everyday decision making.
Carbon Reduction Initiatives
We have made sustained investment in technologies and processes that materially reduce energy use and emissions. On site solar PV generation now provides a substantial proportion of our electricity requirements, reducing reliance on grid energy. Electric forklift trucks and fleet vehicles further reduce operational emissions, supported by renewable electricity generated on site.
Investment in energy efficient laser technology, LED lighting, and modern heating systems continues to lower consumption and waste. On site nitrogen generation, powered by electricity from our solar PV system, produces the high purity gas required to run our laser cutting process efficiently. This significantly reduces transport movements and emissions while improving operational efficiency.
Sustainable Manufacturing
Environmental responsibility is embedded throughout our manufacturing processes. Certified environmental management systems support compliance, measurement, and continual improvement, while Carbon Footprint Account Reporting enables accurate tracking of progress and identification of further reduction opportunities.
Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement
We work closely with suppliers to support responsible sourcing and lower carbon materials where possible. Sustainability is increasingly integrated into procurement decisions, reinforcing our wider environmental objectives and supporting customer net zero ambitions.
We continue to progress on our sustainability journey and will invest further in technologies such as battery storage and the sourcing of zero emission steel. These future investments will support our long term net zero ambitions and help deliver lower carbon solutions for our customers.
Our environmental commitments form a core pillar of Fabweld Steel Products ESG strategy and have been recognised nationally through the Kings Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development.
