March 7, 2022 Fabweld signs up for merchant buying society

Fabweld Steel Products, is set for a boost in business after being approved to join a National Society that links suppliers with merchants.

The company is now listed on NMBS – a centralised buying society for Independent Builders, Timber, Hardware, Plumbing and Heating Merchants.

FSP holds a British Standards mark, and recently became one of the first of its kind to gain the prestigious EU approved BS EN1090 certification.

A company involved in steel fabrication for construction or building cannot legally carry on its business without meeting the BS EN 1090 standards under European law. It also allows products to be CE marked and illustrates to suppliers that it meets strict regulations in the preparation and quality of its products.

NMBS boasts more than 3,000 member branches within the UK, FSP will gain access to this independent network and benefit from NMBS marketing support and professional account management.

Richard Hilton, Managing Director of Fabweld, said: “This is a very exciting development for Fabweld as it enables us to have a ‘shop window’ that can be seen by independent merchants that may need our services. Joining this society is a very effective route to the merchant.”

Paul Andrews, Trading Manager for NMBS in the UK and Ireland, said: “By joining the biggest merchant buying group in the UK, Fabweld Steel Products has put itself in a leading position to be considered for steel fabricated products which our members may require.”
