March 7, 2022 FSP joins the battle to renovate Old War Office building

A high profile construction project to transform a landmark building into a luxury hotel has selected FSP as its supplier of access covers.

The renovation of the Old War Office, in Westminster, London, is a former Ministry of Defence building will see the seven floor 1,100-room building converted into new homes and a luxury five-star hotel complex.

The Grade II listed building building was used by Prime Minister Winston Churchill, Lord Kitchener and numerous other prestigious politicians and military personnel following its completion in 1906.

The complex will include restaurants and bars, a spa and boutique retail outlets and 85 luxury residences ranging from exclusive studios up to lavish five-bedroom apartments.

Contractors, Ardmore Group, opted for FSP FAB PAVE™ S10 access covers for the project, which have been manufactured in non-standard 900x900mm sizes. The covers are also certified to FACTA B classification, meaning they have been tested to withstand wheel loads of upwards of five-tonnes.

FSP has supplied FAB PAVE™ covers to a number of projects across the capital, including the Wimbledon All England Lawn Tennis Club, Heathrow Airport and White City Living complex in West London.
