March 7, 2022 FSP solution for flood relief scheme

A scheme to prevent flooding to homes and businesses in Weston-super-Mare will be using a Fabweld trash screen as part of the £1.4m project.

We have manufactured and supplied the trash screen measuring 2327x1712x1700mm for the Summer Lane flood scheme that aims to reduce the risk of flooding by making improvements to ponds and surrounding ditches in the area.

The work is being carried out by contractor MJ Church on behalf of North Somerset Council.

FSP’s range of trash screens can be installed to reduce the amount of debris entering a culvert and also prevent unauthorised access.

Our standard trash screens are manufactured in galvanised mild steel and hot dip galvanised to BSEN1461 and can also be supplied in a stainless steel finish that provides corrosion, rust, stain and chemical resistance in both dry and wet conditions for a continuous pristine appearance.

We design and fabricate screens to specific requirements for our customers, working in conjunction with asset managers to ensure screen maintenance obligations are met.

The trash screen is part of our Water Management range that includes headwall security grilles, cranked gratings for use with flow control devices such as flap valves and penstocks, sloped gratings, debris screens and pipe mounted gratings. We also manufacture ladders, handrailing, safety chains, access hatches, walkways and safety rails.
