March 7, 2022 ‘Love’ for FSP access covers in tennis project

FSP has netted another contract for its products to be used by England’s most prestigious tennis club.

The project by the All England Lawn Tennis Club – better known to everyone as Wimbledon – will see the introduction of 16 new grass and three acrylic courts as well as associated drainage and landscaping at its community sports ground in Raynes Park, London.

FSP supplied 55 of its FAB PAVE™ access covers for the scheme via PJ Carey Contractors Ltd. Work began on the scheme in July and is due for completion later next year.

The twin covers are designed to be infilled with the material such as brick paviors, flagstones or other landscaping material to provide a high quality finish with slick precision lines. They are typically used when underground access is required on an infrequent basis and feature robust keyways that accept industry standard lifting keys, allowing safe removal of the tray when entry is needed.

Produced in galvanised mild steel, the covers are certified to FACTA D load that can withstand articulated lorries up to 108kN wheel loads. They are manufactured to a factory production control in accordance with the ISO:9001 quality standard.

It is not the first time FSP products have been used at the All England Club – a number of our products including the FAB TOP, FAB TRAY and bespoke stainless steel drainage channels were installed during improvements to its entrance.

Managing Director Richard Hilton said: “FAB PAVE is the ideal product for an area like this that demands a prestige finish in an area that will sustain heavy vehicle and pedestrian usage.

“FAB PAVE is a go-to solution for many sporting organisations – for example, more than 80 were supplied to the new £850m Tottenham Hotspur stadium development in north London and you’ll also find them at Old Trafford, Arsenal’s Emirates ground and if you ever visit West Ham’s ground, to name but a few!”
